Rainy Days

Well...intermittently steady rain all weekend kept me from getting any kind of mildly epic riding in this weekend...(how is that for a sentence full of oxymoronic half 'n' halfs??).

So, lucky for you...another shorter post...

While I did manage to sneak in a bit of a ride in between rain showers on Sunday (as you can see by the Strava widgety thing on the right border of this fancy page...)...most of Saturday was spent with mountain bikers....but not mountain biking.

Yup...instead I assisted EnglishJim and Fig in processing about 300 lbs of apples and crabapples...into about 55 litres of cider.

It's that season...the apples are falling off the trees...

Apples...

And more apples...stemming and cutting...

Grinding and pressing...

The finished product...

No product testing was done...
well maybe some quality assurance of past 'active' product...

Fig even has labels made...

Now, when you notice it...don't blame me!  Those are his labels!!

He also has special labels for those of his friends he is closest to...

Anyways....about mountain biking...

I don't mind getting caught in the rain mid ride...but I am not likely to start a ride in the rain.  However some hearty souls did so this weekend...

This group set out on a CX ride on some sketchy terrain...

Good on yas...the Rock & Roaders showing some true grit!!

Then there was a Fatbike race I knew nothing about somewhere in the London area.  AlvinLoo did well, taking a strong second, challenging the race leader in a sprint finish...

Well done Al!!

Lois is OK with me mountain biking in the rain and mud...but I think that is cuz there is some use made out of the bike washer she got....

It's good to keep a clean bike...

Anyways...it's supposed to be nicer out this week...so maybe more rides can be had.

We are also getting into cross season...which some enjoy.
More interestingly, there is emerging news about the upcoming fatbike series!!

I will have details on Thursday...

Stay posted!!

And stay dry!!
